Hi - If you want a really good Authentic Taverna in Skiathos Town visit The mount of Athos about halfway up the main street . Turn right into the little alley . Live Greek band playing some superb original music with a wonderful girl singer . Great atmosphere . So friendly . All food home cooked and locally produced . The best night out I had in Skiathos town . Hard to find this traditional atmosphere these days . Look out for Nickos in traditional costume . Say Lyndon sent you and get a free glass of wine !!! We all need to support lovely places like this before they become extinct . Yassas !!

We were there 3 years ago and i loved it have booked for next year 2007 we are staying in Troulos at the same studios we stayed 3 years ago.It is a small island and i love Skiathos Town we would go to the harbour and go on the hydrofoil to Skopelos and Alonissos absolutly brillant cannot wait till next year to return to this beautiful island.

Our 3rd visit to Skiathos. This year we stayed in the Hotel Alkyon. Excellent Hotel. Staff brilliant. Restaurants,( especially Windmill restaurant, superb. Live Concerts on the bourtzi, Fantastic. Beaches at Kouarnaria beautiful. Especially Little Banana beach, (nudist beach). Reliable buses and cheap Taxis. Make sure you ask the Taxi driver how much for the journey. They don't always put the meter on. Scenery is so relaxing, sitting in the Harbour Tavernas watching the Planes and Ferries come and go is a Great past time. (The Skiathos Express comes in around 1020/30 am). Skiathoseans are kind and helpful people. We're going back to Skiathos next year. 4th time, yeeks. do you like sport? If the answer is yes, then the Tennis Club, just behind the Hotel Alkyon has 4 Tennis courts. 15 euros an hour. 25 euros for lessons with Dimitri. Also a small football pitch, 3 euros per player. I've still got the scares from football. Den&Dee

We brought 12 year old niece, Grandma and daughters 1 and 3 years old on a two week vacation in July. We loved it. We even returned for another week later the same summmer (2003). We would enjoy one of the many beaches from about 9 am to abou 11.30, have lunch and take a nap, then beach it again late afternoon until we couldn't take it anymore! Then we would go to the town, or a mountain top restaurant for dinner and strolls. It is a very friendly, safe, English friendly place to go!
